Flying Off

As I write this blog, I am waiting to board my flight to Chicago. From there I will be flying to Rome. The thought of this is completely amazing. The excitement has been gradually building throughout the whole trip. I thought that leaving my parents behind would be much sadder, but it turned out to be a lot easier. That was a relief. Being sad to leave home would have dampened the excitement of taking off for Rome.

As I wait to board the plane, I have gotten to know the other people of the group better. I know their names, so that is a start. We have spent a short amount of time discussing weekend excursions. While in Italy, we have three day weekends on which we can travel. So far I have made plans to travel to Mittenwald, Germany and Balogna, Italy. I am very excited.

I am making these plans, but honestly I have no idea how this trip will turn out. Surprises always pop up. I am ready for all that this trip has to bring!
